- I do like being warm under my covers when it is cold in the room
- I don’t like it when I stay at a hotel and their blankets are super thin (I don’t feel safe unless I have a heavy blanket on top of me)

- I do like chocolate…
- I don’t like dark chocolate

Mexico was Amazing

Here are some of my favorite pictures from Mexico. I say some because most of my favorite pictures have students in them, but I can't post those... so here are my OTHER favorite pictures.

I loved this little guy's face. I had so many cute pictures of him, it was hard to decide which picture to put up.

This little girl LOVED the bubbles that we gave her. Every time she blew a bubble she would get just as excited as the first time that we showed her how to use the bubble wand.

The first time I met Angelica she just ran up to me with her hands lifted up so that I would pick her up.

This little guy had the cutest laugh. I was lucky to catch him mid-laugh because his smile is SO genuine and so cute!

This is my favorite picture; I wish that it was clearer. I love how everyone else on the marry-go-round is laughing and focused on what is going on and how the one little girl in the middle is looking up at me and smiling. I also love the colors in the picture.

I can't wait for our Mexico trip in September!

I love my job...

Yesterday was a good day! Our Junior High Ministry is getting ready to go down to Mexico, and so I have been trying to get things ready for the past month so I won't be stressed over the little things at the last minute. And, because I have been working on everything for a while, all I needed to do was burn some CD's (thanks Alice) and put some labels on them, put leader folders together and a couple other little things...

Some Students came into the office and we were talking about how excited we are for Mexico and all the cool things we are going to see God do down there! As they were talking, I just sat there thinking how much I love the students that are in my life, and how much fun we are going to have, and how amazing it is to watch them grow in their relationships with friends and also with God. It was also very fun rocking out to MMMbop with them-Yeah Hanson! I wrote an e-mail this week to all of our student leaders in Junior High and told them how proud of them I am and how much I have loved being such a small part of their lives, and how they are such a huge part in mine. I wasn't expecting any e-mails back because I also had some other information in the e-mail about our Student Leader retreat coming up. But, I got a bunch back saying that they have loved the leadership meetings and have learned a lot.

I am SO blessed to be doing what I am. I am SO blessed to wake up everyday and have the opportunity to work with students that I love so much and have such passionate hearts for people and God. I am so blessed. I wake up everyday and am excited to go into work, because I love it that much.

I am excited to leave for Mexico tomorrow! We are going to an orphanage in Baja and it is going to be incredible! I can't wait to see our students interact with the children down there and watch God work in their lives and touch them through this missions project.

A Rainbow Ninja??

Dear Brian,
Thank you for this moment in the office today:

I am glad that we're friends and that you are ok with being a dork sometimes. And, I'm also glad that you have enough self-confidence in yourself that you can tie a ribbon dancer around your head and still feel manly. I think you're very fun.

Your friend,
Annie

Pictures from Seattle

My favorite picture from Seattle because our polka-dot umbrella is in the background...

Emily and I drinking delicious Pellegrino at the reception...

All the girls at the reception

Julia, Laura and I on the Monorail

Another picture of all the girls

Emily and Luther (the biggest slobbery-est dog ever)

I made Laura jump the fence at the Seattle Center and climb onto the little car after they were closed, and she was nervous, but this picture is awesome.

Emily and I in the "get away car" that my aunt and new uncle were going to take from the wedding to the reception...

Julia and I tried on some mints for buck teeth. I think that it’s a good look for us...

The girls in front of the Metropolitian Market (one of my favorite places in Seattle)

We went into a used book store, and store was built around these 5 cats that lived there. There were like over head bridges and holes in the wall for them to walk through (WEIRD)... So, Julia and I took a picture!

1st Avenue where we were staying, we could walk EVERYWHERE!

There was this huge orange crane outside our window, so we climbed out and played on it! It was very fun... the scary part was trying to get back into our room…

Never drink this water... it's gross. Emily and I were very disappointed.

And, a couple more reasons why I LOVE Seattle...

So, if you read my blog yesterday you would know that I want to move to Seattle, and that there are soo many reasons that I love it I couldn't possibly blog about them all. But here are a few more that I thought were important enough that they should be said:

- It has a monorail. Just like Disneyland (minus Mickey Mouse)... and it takes you everywhere! It is so much fun looking down at everyone with their colorful umbrellas and going by trees and big buildings!

- It has a 4 story Nordstrom.

I have so many pictures that I want to post, but I forgot my camera hook-up. Soo, pictures are coming soon!!

I heart Seattle...

I have decided that when I am done with school and done with my internship I am going to move to Seattle. Unless, of course God opens an obvious door to me that he wants me somewhere else...

I love it up here. I started to make a list of all the things that I loved about Seattle, except it started to get so long that I figured I could just put my top three on here:

1. You can walk EVERYWHERE. I love that because it forces you to get out of your house and get some fresh air. It also makes you more aware and appreciative of your surroundings (instead of sitting in your car-BOOORING).

2. It's beautiful. It is so much greener up here and the air feels so fresh!

3. I LOVE THE RAIN.

If I lived in Seattle, my ideal day would look like this:
I would live in an old brick loft town house right in the middle of town that over looks the ocean on one side and the street on the other. I would walk to work everyday (wherever that may be) with my cute umbrella and my rain boots (that I don't have yet...). I would stop by my neighborhood Starbucks every morning and grab coffee. After a long day of work, I would walk to the Metropolitan Market and grab stuff to make dinner. Then I would start a fire in my fireplace, make some dinner and curl up by my fire and watch a good movie. *Sigh* I know that I'm dreaming big here, but I would just LOVE that!

Where is your dream place to live??

I wrote this yesterday, but am just now posting it...

So, I’m sitting in the Airport right now, getting ready to take off for Seattle, and as I’m sitting here drinking my vanilla late, I have noticed that the airport has MANY interesting people. I have two hours to wait before my flight takes off and I keep wishing that I had someone here (other than my parents-even though I love them a ton) to play the name game. It’s a game where you guess the persons name and then once you and the other person have come to an agreement on what you think the persons name is, you say it out loud and see if they turn around or respond to the name... it’s very fun.

But anyways, I’m sitting in the airport and I’m looking at all the people walk by and I have noticed that I am a total people watcher (maybe that’s one reason why I want to major in psychology). I think that it’s fun to look at people and then make up a name and a story that fits them... here are some interesting people that I have seen this morning:

- Business Man from the waste up: He was wearing cargo shorts and sandals on the bottom, and on top he was wearing a suit jacket, nice shirt and a tie.

- Incredibly Short Bearded Man: I think he might have been a Lilliputian (a very tiny man with a huge beard that captured Gulliver on his travels), or maybe he was a just a living lawn gnome.

- Totally Cute Casual Young Business Man: I don’t think I need to say a whole lot here, except that the next time I go to the airport I will not be wearing pajamas, simply because of guys like this. Just kidding... I couldn’t do long plane flights in normal clothes. I say YES to pajama pants and sweatshirts!

- Old man with Un-matching Socks Who Can’t Hear Well and Yells Everything to His Wife (who, also, cannot here very well): I am sitting very close to this couple, and am doing everything I can to not giggle every time the old man says something...

- Old Cowboy: wearing a belt with a big belt buckle, cowboy hat, and boots. Complete with a foo-man-cho. Amazing- he looks like his name would be Jeff. Cowboy Jeff.

- Stewardess from the 80’s: She had a suitcase that had wheels that light up, her hair (especially her bangs) looks like it took a road trip back to the 80’s, and her shoes were too big so she kept having to stop and fix her shoes, because she would walk out of them.

Alright, I gotta go get on the airplane... I will miss everyone!

Simba, I'm sorry.

Yesterday morning as Elizabeth and I were getting ready to leave our house, I looked out the window to see if I needed to grab a jacket before we left, and I saw a cat. It was weird because it started to meow at our door like it lived in our house, so I went outside to see if the cat had a collar on (because it was OBVIOUSLY lost). So Elizabeth and I go outside to see if we could call the owner and get the cat back home. We looked at his collar and it said the cats name was Simba. Well, Simba was nice at first purring and rubbing up against Elizabeth, but he freaked out as Elizabeth started to try and read me the phone number off of his collar. Simba started to try and run away, so I tried and hold Simba down while looking at his collar to dial the owner. That did won’t out very well, because freakin' Simba ran away without his collar. And, he was fast... let me tell you. We had no chance of catching up with him at all. Stupid cat.

I am terrible at rescuing animals.

Don't ever call me if you need help rescuing any lost pets. I will be no help; in fact, I might make things even worse.

... Freakin' Simba.

Last night I was 3 years old...

Well, not really, but I did act like it.

After the church service last night at Wildside, a bunch of us went to Chick-fil-A because we wanted to spend some time with John and Mariah. They just got back from their honeymoon and they're leaving for Oklahoma on Tuesday, so it was very fun to hang out with them! Soo... after a delicious #5, and after eyeing the little kid play area for about 10 minutes, Kayla, Elise and I all went and climbed around on the play area. We totally ignored the sign that said "For children 3 years old and younger", right after we took a picture with it.

The slide in the play area was super fun, but I would have to say that the crazy mirror and the getting lost in the tubes that you climb around in was the best part. Elise and Kayla, you girls are way too much fun! We need to make this a tradition every time we go to Chick-fil-A!

Dear Chick-fil-A,
I like you a lot. I like your food and I like the people who work for you. I do not however, like your sweet tea or your stupid rules that only 3 year olds and younger can play in your play area. Do you like rotting peoples teeth and making grown-ups sad? I think it might be age discrimination to now allow people older than 3 to play. Also, just so you know, I ignored your rules last night and played anyways... because I think that those rules are stupid. I don't even think that 3 year olds could ever enjoy the play area as much as I did last night with my friends.
Just something for you to consider,
Annie

A blonde moment by a non-blonde...

Last night, I got home and to my dismay, there was a huge, fuzzy, nasty, gross, tormenting, hanus, spider on the wall of my house. It was pretty much staring me strait in my eyes and taunting me saying things like, "Now that you live on your own princess, and you're too scared to kill spiders, you're just going to have to let me stay here! MUHAHAHA!"

Now, before I go on I should mention that I'm so afraid of spiders that I once cupped a spider to the wall of my parents house with Tupperware and taped it to the wall because the thought of squishing a spider makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit (no, not really, but it totally grosses me out). Also, I'm always afraid that if I were brave enough to actually try to squish the spider it would jump on my face and bite me. I know that makes me sound like a crazy person, BUT, everyone has wierd things that they are afraid of, and spiders are one of the things that i hate most!

Anyways... I was not about to let this spider stay in our house and possibly multiply and have billions of spiders in my house. So, I got Becky, my roommate, involved to help me get this spider and we made a plan to kill it. Well, actually, I told her that she needed to kill the spider because I wasn't about to squish it. Becky decided that she didn't want to squish the spider either because she hates the crush feeling/sound so we took a Starbucks cup from earlier that day and she cupped that to the wall and then slid a piece of paper behind it so that it was stuck in the cup. It was a clear Starbucks cup so we looked and screamed at the spider for a couple seconds. Then I said, "OH MY GOSH GUYS!! IS THAT A RED WIDDOW??" Becky looked at me and said, "What? A red widow? What's that?" (of course I was thinking black widow and I said red because I was thinking of the red hour glass that they have on their stomachs...). I was about to say, "What?! You have never heard of a red widow before? What are you stupid?" But then Elizabeth said, "Umm... a black widow??"... And then I felt dumb.

We all got a good laugh out of one. And, i can't blame my stupid comment on being blonde... because, I'm not blonde anymore. Oh well...

We flushed the spider down the toilet after screaming some more (like the girls that we are) and watched it swirl around until it went good-bye forever.

P.s. I had a picture of a spider up on my blog, but I had to take it down becasue I would get goosebumps (or goosepimples if your Josh Garrett) every time I looked at it.

Call someone who cares with that almond...

I keep a bag of almonds in my office drawer at work just in case I get hungry (which I always do). And today somehow, I’m still not quite sure how it all started, Elizabeth, Brian and I all got in a war with those almonds. I was winning (since the almonds were in MY drawer, and Elizabeth and Brian had to pick the ones up off the floor) until Brian said something stupid and E and I just looked at him like, "Really? Really." All the almond throwing stopped and we all just looked at each other for a few seconds like, "well that was dumb... I don't even know if I want to throw almonds at you anymore that was so dumb". (But for the record I don't even remember what he said...) then Elizabeth says, "Brian, really. Call someone who cares with that almond." I started laughing so hard that I couldn't move- and then got ambushed with almonds. I guess I was an easy target since I couldn't move.

… Maybe you had to be there to think it was as funny as I did, but I thought was pretty dang funny.

Best Friends Forever...

If Elizabeth and I were strawberries... this is what we would look like. People are always telling us that we are connected at the hip (like most girls are with their best friend). And, I know that strawberries don't have hips... but if they did have hips, and Elizabeth and I were strawberries, this would be us, for sure.

And... yes, I did put google eyes on a strawberry.

I have a crush on you...

Lately I have been watching a lot of movies with my roommates, and I feel like every movie that I watch I find myself saying to one (or more, depending on the movie) "I LOVE YOU ________!!!" (Insert name of my crush in movie). And, so, I decided to make a list of some of the guys that I have had crushes on (not all of them, but SOME of them...)

- Aladdin. Yes, from the Disney movie. To justify this, I had a crush on him when the movie first came out and that was when I was 7 years old. I remember standing in my best friend Becky's backyard and we were both talking about how we wanted to marry Aladdin and what things we were going to wish for when we met the genie.

- Jimmy Fallen. I LOVE YOU JIMMY! I don't even care of you laugh when you're not supposed to during SNL... i still think that you're great!

- Will Ferrell.
YOU HAD ME AT HELLO. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, especially in Elf. And, SNL has never been the same without you.

- John Krasinski (AKA Jim from the office). Dear Jim, if you ever decide that you don't love Pam anymore... you can love me, because I'll love you back.

- Matt Ankeny. My Junior High Crush. I still talk about you all the time, and if you ask me to marry you tomorrow... MY ANSWER IS YES! I THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER ASK!!

- Kirk Cameron (AKA Mike Sever from Growing Pains). Kirk, you gave me butterflies when I would watch you on TV. You were my very first love, and I also loved your sister in Full House. I would have loved to marry you and also been related to your sister.

- Matthew Mcconaughey. You are so hot, and yet so short... sorry about that. If you were taller, you would be SO much hotter... but I still have a crush on you.

- Jason Lee Scott. From the mighty morphin power rangers, he was the Red Ranger. OK... this crush is slightly embarrassing, but I was 8. I do not have a crush on you now Jason, but I did steal my mom's camera out of her purse to take a picture of you on our TV.

- Michael J. Fox. I first loved you when I watched Family Ties. Now, you are very old, but still one of my favorite crushes that I have ever had. I especially love you in Back to the Future.

Who do you have a crush on??

Some things...

So, I was looking through my text messages today and I realized that I keep way too many of them... for no reason, I just don't delete them. And, I started thinking about how many other things that I always buy or keep around that I have way too many of... So i made this list:

- Bobby pins. I seriously must have at least a million of them. The problem is... I can never find them when I need them, and so I am always buying more. And, when I don't need them I am finding them in my car or stepping all over them in my house.

- Rubber bands for my hair. Same story as above... they're just so tiny that they’re easy to loose!!

- Pajama shirts. I have so many of these that they won't even all fit in one drawer. It's ridiculous. But I have some connection to them and I can't part with any of them. I have so many that I have to keep all of them in one drawer and some in my closet... I need to throw some out... But I’m just not there yet.

- Shoes. This wouldn't be a bad thing for a typical girl to have too many of, except that for the most part I wear sandals every day, and the rest of my shoes get ignored. Soo, I either need to stop buying shoes that I don't wear very often or just start buying more sandals... one of the two for sure.

- Martha Stewart magazines. I know, I know... go ahead, call my crazy, but I really love Martha Stewart. And, to clarify, it's not really Martha herself that I love; it’s all her really fun crafts and recipes that I love! But, I have WAYYY too many of her magazines lying around the house... one of these days I need to recycle them all. I will be rich the day that I decide to do that because I have so many of them.

- Pillows on my bed. I have to sleep with 5 pillows on my bed... but those I'm not willing to negotiate, so maybe they shouldn’t be on this list. I need them there... it's not a selfish want, I’m not some princess who has to have a million pillows... it's a necessity for me, without them... I can't sleep. No, seriously, I can’t.

- Burt’s Bee's Chap Stick. I think that I have like 6 of them. Most people have one and take that with them wherever they go, but I have like 6 for each of my purses just so I won't forget to transfer them if I change purses... that’s how much I love my Burt’s Bee's.

- Text messages. I am a texting queen. It is one of my guilty pleasures; I would much rather text people than talk on the phone most of the time. But, because I am such a texter, my texts just build up in my inbox. Some texts I like to keep... but I just don't delete as many as I should.

What do you have too many of??
